They present two solid, lacquered wooden cubes decorated with Tibetan symbols. They are drilled through and strung on two long cords.
Two spectators hold the four ends of the strings. - Attention! This isn't the trick you might be thinking of! The spectators can pull the strings back and forth, and you can push the wooden blocks up to the ends of the strings!
Then, with scissors, cut both cords between the wooden blocks. Hold the cut ends against the blocks to prevent them from slipping out of the holes, separate the blocks, and walk between the blocks and the cut cords!
Then place the blocks together, and at that moment the strings are restored! The audience can pull them out of the blocks and examine them thoroughly.
This is a piece of art that works both in a small group and on stage. It meets all the criteria of a good effect: It is clearly visible, extremely effective, highly entertaining, effortlessly easy to perform, and completely inexplicable to the audience.
It's like an illusion in miniature that you can easily carry in your pocket.
Edge length of the wooden blocks: approx. 7 cm.
