As the name suggests, stand-up magic is performed while standing. This can be on the dance floor or in a salon, but of course also on the big stage; hence the German terms "Parkett-Zauberkunst," "Salon-Zauberkunst," and "Bühnen-Zauberkunst."

In this lesson, Harlan Tarbell spans the spectrum from the folding flowers in Milbourne Christopher's "Flower Telegram" to Jack Gwynne's "Color-Changing Rabbit." Effects that are also well-known in Germany, such as the "Vero Glass" or the "Coca-Cola Gimmick," are covered, as are highly interesting variations of the classic coloring book. In one version, a stamp album fills itself, and in John Booth's version, it's photos of movie stars that disappear from an envelope and reappear in a star album.

There's also smoke from the sleeve, pieces of paper jumping on the knife edge, a jumping clown, the cut and repaired tie, and much more - a colorful mix that should have something for everyone.
