The basics of magic

The Bamberg family, originally from the Netherlands, holds a very special record in the art of magic: they have produced seven generations of magicians in an unbroken succession.

Jasper Bamberg , an alchemist and necromancer, began the tradition of raising his firstborn son as a magician. His descendants included court magicians and world-traveling performers, each among the most famous and renowned artists of their time. All were inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Society of American Magicians (SAM ).

Harlan Tarbell pays tribute to this family dynasty in this lesson. He shares the information he received firsthand from Theo Bamberg He passes on his achievements to readers, who achieved world fame under the name Okito . For each representative of the Bambergs, he describes one of his most successful tricks.

In this way, he presents the reader with a panorama of unusual routines from three centuries, which reflect the respective times and preferences, but which can also be modified for the present day so that they are once again up to date.
