The basics of magic

In this lesson, you'll perform magic with balls made of various materials and with ball-like objects—latex fruit. Harlan Tarbell will introduce you to five completely different routines, some requiring some dexterity, others precise timing. With all of them, if practiced well, you'll be sure to brilliantly entertain your audience.

It begins with "Billiard Ball Through Cloth," a beautiful intermezzo for a billiard ball routine, followed by the surprising appearance of a ball: "Balls from the Air." This is followed by a very unusual comedy routine that practically functions by itself and is based on a physical principle.

Finally, you'll learn two variations of the cup game that couldn't be more different. "Senator Clark Crandall's Cups & Balls" is probably the original version of such well-known routines as René Lavant's "Three Breadcrumbs," and "Tarbell's Flowerpots and Oranges" surprises with fruit instead of the usual balls.
