You ask a spectator to place a euro (or any other coin) in the center of the table. As soon as this happens, you cover the coin with your outstretched, flat hand. You hold your hand only briefly above the coin. If you turn the hand over, the coin will disappear without a trace, and the hand can be examined in detail! That's the basic effect.
