The effect is clear and distinct: A rope is pulled through the handle of a half-liter enamel mug. The two rope ends are then threaded through a cloth with a hole in the middle. The cloth now lies over the mug and covers it. The cup is now under the cloth, securely tied in the loop of rope. A spectator holds the two ends of the rope tightly above the cloth.
