Lately, magicians have been advertising their shows with a new term on their websites: the "family show." Or they write that the show is "equally suitable for parents and children."
So far, so good. Unfortunately, you don't describe what makes a family show special and what to look for when putting together the program and presenting it.
Volkmar Karsten wants to close this gap. He has addressed precisely these questions and presents them and his answers in his new book “The Family Magic Show – The program for all generations” before.
On 150 pages he discusses the following topics:
- 1. Foreword
- 2. What is a family show?
- 3. Where can I perform magic for the family?
- 4. How do I perform magic for the family?
- 5. Tricks for the family program
- 6. Suitable tricks for all ages
In a further chapter, Volkmar Karsten presents in detail his show "Animal Magic," which he regularly performs at his magic theater. Families are always in attendance, with a ratio of children to adults in the audience of approximately 50:50 percent.
The book is published as volume 9 of the “Series on Magic for Children” in paperback format DIN A5 and has 150 pages + appendix.
