You offer a prize, say €50, and invite a spectator to participate in a competition. In return, you present a deck of cards consisting of several losing cards and a single winning card.
You place the winning card under the losing cards so that no one knows where it is.
They announce that the spectator has six chances to win the prize. They are asked to choose a number from 1-6, which will then be played for six rounds. As soon as the winning card is revealed, the spectator wins.
For example, the spectator chooses the 4. So, three cards are counted from top to bottom, and then the 4th is turned over. - But this is a losing card.
This is now repeated five more times, but each time a loser card is revealed. The spectator has had his six chances,
Unfortunately, he was unlucky and didn't win.
Suddenly, your cell phone rings. You answer, and your audience witnesses your conversation with a caller who accuses you of foul play in the previous contest because you made the winning card disappear, which meant you couldn't have won the game.
You agree with the caller to start another round. If he was right, he would receive the prize, but you would prove
that you could very well win, he would from now on only refer to you as the “greatest magician of all time”.
No sooner said than done. You count three cards again and then turn over the fourth – it's the winning card!
This is a sober description of a true gem for speech magicians. You can turn it into a real show and have your audience in fits of laughter.
Axel Velden introduced the performance with a short talk about the Germans, their politicians, and their money, peppered with numerous quips and gags.
The technical side of the performance is child's play, as it's a no-brainer. Focus on selling.
You will receive two laminated sets of cards (winner/loser)
in DIN A5 and six number cards for the individual rounds) in DIN A6.
However, a cell phone is not included.
