Dai Vernon (born David Frederick Winfield Verner) was a Canadian-American magician and author. Known by the nickname "The Professor," Vernon is considered one of the most influential magicians of the 20th century. His guiding principle, "Be natural," is an important cornerstone of today's understanding of modern magic. His routines for the Ring Game and Cup Game are groundbreaking and form the basis of most performances of these two classic tricks. He spent the last years of his life at the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood.
