Effects of this kind usually require expensive and elaborately prepared wallets. However, with this version, you can use any wallet, even your everyday wallet. The solution to this effect is an ingenious combination of several methods. If you've ever seen Wolfgang Moser perform this trick live, you know how powerful the effect is on the audience.

effect

The magician presents his wallet and has a spectator carefully examine its contents. Aside from a few banknotes, there is only a small envelope inside. Otherwise, the wallet is completely empty and unused. The spectator is given the wallet for safekeeping. The audience then chooses a card of their choice. The magician finally opens the envelope in the wallet, and inside is... the chosen card.
