The basics of magic
This is about the simple yet central question that every performing artist faces: How do I entertain my audience? A magician is also an entertainer; they must captivate and delight their audience. The manner of the performance is just as important as the magic tricks themselves. If two performers perform the same trick, one might elicit a storm of enthusiasm from the audience, while the other might only receive bored stares. The reason for such different reactions lies not in the trick itself, but rather in the differences in its presentation.
The magician must win over his audience and act like a mirror, reflecting from the stage what the audience wants to see and hear, without, of course, knowing exactly what that actually is.
So it's not just about perfect mastery of a "trick," it's also about "selling" it. Imagination and originality, good taste and timing, humor and sincerity, the right choice of words, the right clothing, and much more play a role.
