Lesson 73 Card Art 10
Playing card magic is certainly the most extensive area of magic. A deck of cards is the most versatile prop imaginable. The number of manipulations, effects, and routines that can be performed with them is enormous, and new ones are added every day. With a deck of cards in your pocket, you can keep any audience thoroughly entertained for a long time.
In this lesson, Harlan Tarbell has gathered over a dozen amazing card effects for you that can be mastered with simple means and without difficult moves.
A chosen card pops out of the deck, or it appears in a sealed envelope, or it is taken from the performer's jacket pocket by a spectator, or it appears in a balloon. You'll also learn about a cleverly prepared card box—the X-ray box—and Tarbell's version of it for "non-crafters."
A well-known classic is the 6-card trick, in which three cards are discarded several times, yet six cards can always be counted in the performer's hand. This trick will be presented in very different versions by three experienced magicians.
The finale is a breathtaking poker demonstration that will make your audience believe that you are capable of dealing any poker hand they want.
