Chinese wish paper (tearing up newspaper)
They show a really large (60 x 22 cm) yellow strip of paper printed with Chinese characters and tell the interesting story of the so-called "Chinese wish paper."
As you speak, you tear the strip of paper into small pieces. The story continues, logically and plausibly leading to the pieces growing back together, thus restoring the strip of paper.
But your audience suspects something sinister: cheating! Because everyone in the audience clearly saw that – without your knowledge(?) – a small packet of yellow paper fell to the floor... > But now, thankfully, it turns out that the "accidentally" dropped paper is just a picture of the Chinese man who gave you the piece of wish paper years ago...
We don't want to say much more about MORTIMER'S CHINESE WISHING PAPERS, because you've probably already realized that this is a real gem for magicians.
Just this much you should know:
The story behind this trick is as fantastic as it is simple to perform; and that's why this effect has been part of the standard repertoire of many professionals worldwide for decades!
Complete, with CHINESE WISHING PAPERS for approx. 30 performances and lecture, as well as German instructions.
