They present a small (7.5 cm long) finely nickel-plated tube that can be sealed with two caps. Inside is a small pencil.
You shake the tube, then let the pencil slide out and place it vertically.
Then hand it to a spectator and ask them to also place the pencil vertically.
But no matter how hard the viewer tries, it doesn't work. The pencil falls over.
“You have to put the pencil in the tube first and shake it,” you explain, demonstrating this to the viewer again. - And the pencil stands.
The spectator imitates it - and the pencil falls over.
You can now repeat this and repeat it until doomsday.
