10 years of Midnight Magic with Dr. Knut Knackstedt : On the occasion of his stage anniversary in the professional segment, the bizarre artist releases a truly special DVD package: “Dr. Knut Knackstedt’s 10”

The first DVD features a complete evening program (85 minutes), recorded live and without reshoots in the sic! studio (Nottuln-Appelhülsen). This recording alone is worth its weight in gold for anyone seriously considering the structure and pacing of a bizarre/mental show—here's someone at work who has produced 10 annual full-length programs, as well as countless smaller and special programs. It was recorded with six HD cameras, and postproduction on all discs was carried out according to current professional TV standards by Sebastian Beloch (4 seasons of DSDS, Die Farm, Engel im Einsatz, Die Versicherungsdetektive, etc.).

The second DVD provides extremely detailed explanations (152 minutes) – as well as references to the 10 effects demonstrated in the show. Dr. Knut Knackstedt is supported by Remscheid theater scholar, stage manager, and magician Kai Abrell as a sparring partner for the explanations. Interrupted occasionally by Bielefeld "magic nerd" Falco Spitz, Knut and Kai move through the premises of the sic! publishing house, leaving no question unanswered about the 10 concepts presented.

Bonus: There's a third disc in the set: All the material from both DVDs is combined on a single Blu-ray disc (BD-R 50 format) and is therefore available in full HD quality. Caution! The presentations in detail

• Grenouille – With the help of a bestselling novel and a "scent organ," a couple demonstrates their deep connection through a dialogue of sensory and supernatural perceptions. This story made Dr. Knut Knackstedt famous in the scientific community.
• Fleur Du Mal – A guest demonstrates his ability to recognize the special within the general by giving a large bouquet of wrapped roses to the other guests. One rose remains for himself. And it is different from the others… Dr. Knut Knackstedt's most commercial presentation in more than seven years.
• Moira – Five Roses, a Pair of Scissors, a parable about life and death. Extremely emotional. The subject of Dr. Knut Knackstedt's lecture at the Mind Summit 2014.
• Planets – Seven guests receive a short reading based on planets they feel close to. One of the guests is confirmed to be under the same star as the magician that evening.
• Escape From Monaco – A guest dreams himself into the story of a life-changing dream that the magician himself demonstrably had 25 years ago.
• Acausal synchronicity – A fist-sized stone scarab is cut from a guest's head – so that he may feel relieved and freer…
• The Night Has Claws – Enemy claws reach out from beyond into this world – and the magician reaches for the throat: Bloody welts appear on his neck while he is held by the hands of two guests.
• Extreme Voodoo – Harmful Spell and Its Consequences: A doll and a photograph of the magician are brought into contact with each other. The ensuing harmful spell has unexpected consequences… Many guests experience it as extremely intense.
• Séancia – An attempt to transcend boundaries, a gift to a departed lover. A grave rose bleeds, a medallion transforms into a symbol of hope. Dr. Knut Knackstedt's current signature effect.
• Apple Dream – Death and life as mutually dependent polarities and primal causes. A guest glimpses the creative forces of living longing while contemplating a glass embryo. For years, this has been the finale of Dr. Knut Knackstedt's séance.

Many years ago, Borodin spoke very enthusiastically about Knut Knackstedt, making us – the Ars Magica group – very curious. The very name "Knut Knackstedt" and his "Midnight Magic" sounded promising. After he agreed to organize a seminar weekend for Ars Magica, we got to know him personally and professionally. And yes, we were absolutely thrilled. A truly lovely person, full of wit, intelligence, and exciting energy, with the requisite dark timbre. And now this – a superbly executed, valuable project. A live recording of ten of his powerful presentations (without any post-production, so you finally see how these gems are actually performed in front of laypeople) along with excellent, understandable, and engaging explanations. It's hard for me to pick out favorite effects. I've always been particularly fond of his "Fleudu Mal," an original, romantic presentation with a technique I love. But Moira and Séancia also give me the creeps. And so on. These DVDs are highly recommended for anyone interested in specialized, in-depth presentations of magic.

In his highly produced DVD/Blu-ray set "10," Dr. Knut Knackstedt has once again demonstrated that he treads off the beaten track. In his very own and sophisticated style, he presents midnight magic that truly deserves this name. The viewer must be prepared to follow along both mentally and emotionally – if they are, they will experience a very unique blend of eerie, mental, and emotional experiments and stories in the performances. For the presenter, the set offers interesting and instructive insights into Knut Knackstedt's personality, philosophy, and presentation style. It is clear that something has grown over the years and is nurtured and cultivated in his own unique style – and with success. The explanations are very detailed and also humorous. The subject matter is taken seriously, but Knut Knackstedt remains true to himself with his quirky sense of humor. There's something to be learned from all the routines, and everything is relatable and easily transferable to one's own experience. Rating: Very valuable and very special—no media library should be without it if you're into this genre!
