Jeff Sheridan has earned his living as a street magician in New York City for years and has made a name for himself with his acknowledgedly sophisticated performance.
This was honored, not least, with a page in "The World's Greatest Magicians," where he appears alongside Siegfried & Roy, David Copperfield, Doug Henning, and others. It was the main part of his street act—his tightrope routine—that brought him to attention.
The description of a rope routine will always sound somewhat sober; you really have to see it to appreciate its intricacies. Nevertheless, this much: If you invest some time in the routine, you will master a feat that includes, among other things, "cutting" the rope with your fingers, making it lengthen, shifting knots and making them disappear, swapping the ends of the rope with the middle, melting scissors onto the rope, cutting it, and finally restoring it.
What Jeff Sheridan has achieved in this routine is a finely tuned and balanced presentation of wonderful rope illusions!!
