The basics of magic

Comedy routines for stage and parquet

Humorous performances are very popular because people all around the globe love to laugh, everywhere and at all times.

Many of the routines in this lesson have been passed down from generation to generation. Harlan Tarbell has supplemented them with his own ideas and compiled them into a potpourri of eight tried-and-true comedy acts.

Most routines involve multi-person acts.

1. The slightly different rabbit turns into a skunk.
2. The lie detector exposes your assistant.
3. The flying coins - this time your assistant exposes you!
4. The color-changing socks magically mislead two betting partners.
5. Mind reading—on a grand scale!—a very fun mental act.
6. A hypnotic vanishing act is a comedy quickie for three people.
7. An unexpected disappearance is actually a cheek, but that's precisely what amuses your audience.
8. A comedy limbo ends with an embarrassment for the artist as the secret is revealed to the audience.
Once rehearsed, each individual routine adds a guaranteed success factor to your repertoire.
