The basics of magic
Playing card magic is certainly the most extensive area of magic. A deck of cards is the most versatile prop imaginable; the number of manipulations, effects, and routines that can be performed with them is enormous, and new ones are being added every day.
With a deck of cards in your pocket, you can keep any audience entertained for a long time.
Harlan Tarbell devotes 18 lessons to this topic in his course. Here are the first three of these lessons.
Lesson 10 begins with basic card grips, such as the “simplified volte”, the “false shuffle”, the “doubling”, the “slip cut” and the “palmation”.
By mastering these basics, which form the "backbone" of card magic, you will also be able to master the card tricks described below and later develop your own card effects.
Lesson 11 covers card tricks that can be performed off the cuff. Lesson 12 describes effective tricks with a mental touch.
The easy-to-follow descriptions, which are clearly illustrated with clear drawings, make it easy to learn the moves and practice the tricks, so that you can quickly put together your own individual card program.
