Karl Norman's magical work is closely connected to the legendary Eddie Fechter and the famous Forks Hotel in Buffalo, New York. When Eddie Fechter purchased the hotel in 1958, Karl began a nearly 40-year career as a bar and restaurant magician. Although the hotel's magic was initially intended for the public, the Forks Hotel soon became a mecca for close-up magicians due to the high-caliber magic it performed.
Karl Norman's magic should be viewed against this backdrop. Classic Cocktail features some of his finest tricks. These are the routines with which he has entertained and astonished audiences for half a century. That he was also able to earn a living from them is only mentioned in passing.
Karl doesn't teach you any new moves or new techniques! Rather, these are routines for which there is no more accurate description than field-tested and audience-pleasing. They have been honed over thousands of performances before diverse audiences, and everything irrelevant has been eliminated. What remains is a straightforward and commercial presentation of classic tricks from the professional repertoire of a legendary magician.
