This issue contains two very different lessons.

Lesson 89 deals with silk scarves. With Phoa's "Cut and Restored Silk Scarf," you'll learn one of the most fascinating restoration effects magic has to offer. This is followed by two classics from Pavel, followed by a very funny ride-on effect that will amuse any audience.

Lesson 90 puts you in the spotlight of the big stage: You will learn about the “phantom podium” and then use it to make people appear, disappear, and swap places.

"The Sawed-In-Half Lady" is perhaps the most well-known illusion effect. The version described here is inexpensive to produce and has the added bonus of the lady being tied to the sawing box, which makes the whole thing even more mysterious. Furthermore, five spectators are involved in the performance.

Another classic is the sword box, in which a person is locked and then pierced with swords or steel rods according to all the tricks of the trade. Of course, your performers remain completely unharmed. Learn how this can be accomplished skillfully and effectively with three very different versions of this popular illusion.
