They hand a spectator a small bag containing five brass rods, each marked with different colored "diamonds" on the top and dots numbered 1 to 5 on the bottom. The spectator also receives a brass box with a screw lid that fits exactly one rod.
While you turn away, the spectator places any stick into the box and closes it. The spectator also closes the bag so that you can't tell which stick the spectator has chosen.
But as soon as you hold the container in your hands, you can tell which stick is inside.
All props are made of solid brass.
The tin is approx. 4.2 cm long and the lid diameter is approx. 1.3 cm.
