The magician demonstrates a miniature paper punch and allows the spectator to examine it and punch a hole in a piece of paper. A real banknote is folded several times so that the punch can punch eight holes in the bill at once. The bill is unfolded, and the spectator can clearly see the holes. The magician folds the bill again, slides the punch over the bill, and "punches negatively"—reversing the punching ! When the bill is unfolded, the holes are gone, and the bill is once again undamaged.
