"Final Secrets" is the second book about the magic of Eugene Burger to be published posthumously. While "From Beyond" was about Burger's stand-up material and his "haunted routines", the focus of "Final Secrets" is on psychological card tricks. These tricks (such as his version of "The Trick that Cannot Be Explained") can - in the right atmosphere - create an incredible, magical mood. In one of the interviews with Eugene Burger printed in the book, he describes his two most important gifts as follows: Firstly, he is able to present magic in such a way that it feels like real magic, and secondly, he knows what real magic looks like. Both of these skills are often more valuable in our art than creativity and technical ability.
For Eugene Burger fans, this book is a must-have, of course—but for everyone else, too, it's a fantastic insight into the repertoire of a magician who knew how to transport his audience to another world. With "Influence," you won't just fool your colleagues; "The Robot" is a wonderful routine for table-hopping, and Burger's thoughts and descriptions of Equivoque are truly enriching.

In 2019, Larry Hass published "From Beyond," the first of two posthumous Eugene Burger books, all containing unpublished material. Created at Eugene's own request and in close collaboration with him, these books reflect his deepest wish that his entire repertoire of work be available to all magicians after his death.
