Deja Zoo - Jumbo Version

You show your audience pictures of various zoo animals. Two spectators are asked to each memorize one of the animals while you continue to show the cards with the various animals.

Then take two blank cards and a felt-tip pen, and try to read the audience's minds. On each card, quickly sketch the animals the audience is focusing on. Place the cards in a stand on the table, with the backs facing the audience.

Only now do the two participating spectators name the animals they have only thought of so far.

To check, place the cards with these animals next to the cards with your sketches. Finally, turn the card holder over to see if you've "read" both animals correctly.

"Deja Zoo" is based on the same principle as the "Radar Vision" effect by Burtling Hull and George LaFollette, but uses number cards.
