Effects with ESP cards and an extensive appendix from Perkeo
Rolf Liebau (Arne Petersen) and Utz Napierala died in 2015. A complete, unpublished manuscript by Utz was found in Rolf 's estate. It is certainly in the best interests of both of them that what Utz has compiled on this topic does not disappear quietly into the nirvana of the unread, but rather finds its way to where it belongs: into the minds and hands of performers. While retaining the script title and the original headings, Perkeo has stuck very closely to the texts, only revising them here and there and adding aphorisms and remarks, sometimes more, sometimes less, as he did in the first "UTZ" he published. He liked it very much. He wrote about it in a long letter at the time, and it's safe to assume he would do it again now...
These are interesting experiments that Utz Napierala compiled and shared with us via Rolf Liebau . However, a stylistically confident adaptation to the ESP theme and the "laboratory setting" for which the cards were originally created is somewhat lacking. Therefore, Perkeo presents a brief outline of the original ESP experiments in Durham and eight of his own effects in the appendix. Both are based on his ESP book, which sold out within a year a quarter of a century ago.
